Anthony Grieco

Leads Cisco's strategy for building security and trust throughout all aspects of Cisco's business through the use of technology, policy and process. Also responsible for raising the awareness in the industry about the importance of resiliency and data security that result from thinking about security and trust being built in to all connected systems. Additional responsibilities include developing, incubating and go to market planning for innovative solutions to security and trust centric issues that challenge the IT industry today.

Anthony is responsible for the technology direction of Cisco’s Threat, Research, Intelligence and Defense organization. This role requires technology, policy and business leadership to fulfill the organizations goals of defending Cisco’s products and Cisco’s customers from adversaries. He leads a major initiative at Cisco focusing on the security and trustworthiness of Cisco’s products. This cross-company role includes technology and process components. The technology component focuses on applying defensive, forensic and detection technologies and developing innovations to solve complex systems problems such as secure boot, crypto modularity, and security in virtualized environments. The process component focuses on driving adoption of secure development practices within Cisco, external suppliers and our overall supply chain. Anthony also leads a threat intelligence program as a part of the mission to protect Cisco’s customers. This involves many technology initiatives including architecture, implementation and go to market of a threat intelligence platform and data sharing architecture. This platform is used to derive actionable security intelligence from large amounts of telemetry and contextual data. Deliverables have created impactful security intelligence resulting in enhanced security for customers and the broader internet. Anthony’s role requires significant interface and influence with decision makers within customers, governments and partners. He regularly participates in a number of public-private partnerships, CxO customer engagements and represents Cisco’s interest in a number of global security policy issues.
