Elisabeth Schnicke, RD LD CNSC

I am a motivated and positive dietetics professional with over six years of clinical experience. I love to build relationships and trust with patients and their family members, physicians, medical staff, community representatives, and vendors. I graduated from The Ohio State University Human Nutrition Dietetic Internship in May 2018. I previously worked in Southeast Ohio at Adena Health System as an inpatient clinical RD, oncology RD, and team lead for over 3 and a half years. I am currently one of two Malnutrition Specialist RDs at OSUWMC for a pilot program to expand malnutrition initiatives in our hospital system. Within my position, I am looking to improve our inpatient nutrition process to identify malnutrition sooner, implement appropriate nutrition care plans while patients are admitted, and help with creating discharge plans prior to leaving. We also are looking to see how our pilot program may help with decreasing length of stay and reducing 30-day readmission rates, and the financial impact. I train and evaluate our nutrition staff and dietetic interns regarding malnutrition and Nutrition Focused Physical Exams.
