The Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) is a state-owned promotional institution established to provide Irish SMEs with low-cost credit, while driving competition and innovation in the Irish financial market. By supporting and helping to develop an effective market for SME finance, the SBCI ensures that Irish SMEs have access to finance in both positive and negative market conditions. In addition, the SBCI provide affordable, low-cost finance to help eligible homeowners fund a home retrofit project. Our Home Energy Upgrade Loan Scheme is designed to make residential energy upgrades more accessible for eligible homeowners. Working with a network of on-lending partners, the SBCI provides low-cost finance and guarantees to SMEs and homeowners, ensuring the benefits reach the borrower themselves rather than the on-lending partners.   The SBCI actively supports the long-term potential of the SME sector to drive economic growth through the efficient use of available EU resources with an overall mission of enabling SMEs to grow, innovate and prosper, leading to a better economy for all.
