The Ministry of Finance is the major economic ministry of the Government of Israel and is responsible for shaping and implementing the Government’s economic policy. Its primary responsibilities include planning and executing Israel’s financial and economic policy, regulating economic and business activity, formulating the annual state budget and allocating it among government ministries, as well as managing state revenues and overseeing the collection of direct and indirect taxes. Several departments operate within the Ministry, including Budgets, Accountant General, Salary and Labor Agreements and the Chief Economist- State Revenues, Research and International Relations. In addition, major national authorities operate under the Ministry: Tax, Government Companies, Capital Market, Insurance and Savings and Holocaust Survivors Rights, as well as other additional units.
