Afia

"Afia" translates to good health, well-being, vitality in Arabic. It's also what you say when you sit down at someone's table and they've put real food in front of you -- AFIA! a toast to your well-being before a great meal. Afia is a Syrian-American family-built brand making Eastern Mediterranean food the way it's supposed to be made — falafel, frozen meals, kibbeh, and the staples our founders families grew up eating. Farrah and her husband Yassin started Afia to put the food from the family cookbook on American shelves. Today we're in 5,000+ stores nationally, including Whole Foods, HEB, Publix, Wegmans, Kroger, and Costco. Our food is rooted in tradition, and influenced by the friends and family we've made along the way — from around the Mediterranean to around Texas and the U.S. The kitchens we come from are full of women who learned by watching their mothers, and who weren't afraid to change a recipe when something better walked through the door. That's how we cook, and that's how we build the brand. Real ingredients. Real technique. A little willingness to evolve.
