What is the value of a diagnostic tool？what is the patient's benefit from a molecular diagnostic product ？To address these questions, I joined Hugobiotech, a small but energetic start-up biotech company based at Peking，mainly relying on high-throughput sequencing. Nothing changed with my enthusiasm and dedication to microbiology, epidemiology, and infection diagnostics. Now I lead a group of fellows to develop and apply every possible method, as metagenomics, enriched captured sequencing, targeted amplification to screen, detect and identify the hideous pathogens such as TB, HIV and Viral hepatitis in Chinese populations with a shorter time, lower cost, and much more precision.

I started my new role as field marketing, leveraging on broad biology knowledge and marketing skills to build the relationship with KOLs, help to complete the buyer journey, and prioritize and penetrate new opportunities in close collaboration with sales. I am focusing on high throughput sequencing in basic research and diagnosis or testing in public health, clinical infection, environmental microbiome, agriculture breeding, Vet Dx, etc.

I worked as a field application scientist to provide customer-facing consult and training for those who were new to high-throughput sequencing. My specialty covered a wide range of HTS applications from culture-based to culture-free shotgun metagenomics and enriched targeted sequencing. A deep understanding of customer's needs is the key to driving quick adoption of HTS and other new ideas. Also, I am capable of establishing mutually-beneficial and constant relationships for both exteriors and interiors.

I used shotgun metagenomics combining traditional microbiological approaches to detect and to discover unknown viruses at the border area of China. Personally, my great success was to culture-isolate identify, characterize several new mosquito-borne viruses.

After my graduation, I was assigned to the very western border for field study and served for border troops. I worked as "virus hunter" to discover unknown viral pathogens in biting arthopod animals.
