Suggest optimization options to paint manufacturing, and support process validation for all new coating process. Understanding about film reaction chemistry, surface chemistry and adhesion mechanism Short term test (adhesion, water resistance, hardness) and Long term test (Xenon, QUV, Corrosion test) - Paint shop adhesives, develop new materials strategy for lower cost manufacturing with improved quality. Ensure the correct application on process -Conduct material characterization investigations during quality issues by analytical tools (FTIR, SEM, HPLC, UTS). Interface with headquarters and suppliers to drive concerns to a root cause and effective resolution. Wide experience in metallurgy, composites, plating, corrosion, organic and inorganic coatings issues -Approve electrodeposition coated parts for different corrosion requirements according to part/market application -Support market claims analysis to improve IQS by modify material spec or suggesting to manufacturing parameters adjustment in their process

Started the R&D operations in Mexico, I joint the materials development group and identify opportunities for new materials that enhace future models performance, focused on cost-efficient, light-weight and new tendency. Visit materials/parts suppliers to solve challenges and identify new opportunities. Mentoring Quality/Product Engineers/manufacturing teams on materials issues, challanges, and solutions. Support to Japan R&D to understand Mexico market and customers requirements -Coordinated and delegated the installation of equipment, furniture and tools necessary for the start-up of the R&D laboratories -Test and release automotive materials by Honda Engineering Standards HES, based on JIS/ASTM methods: a)Pretreatment: cleaners, activating agents, zinc phosphate b)Paint Materials: ED coat, primer, top coat, cleat coat c)Sealants: mastic sealers, UBC, dust dealers d)Automotive parts testing plastic/metallic substrates with different coating process (electrodeposition, chrome plating, zinc plating, spray and immersion paint) e) Aluminum wheels, bolts, brackets, dampers, door handles, emblems, and other chassis /exterior components -Laboratory management: chemicals, equipment, ISO 14001:2015, safety culture -Research for new trends in materials and technologies by attending to national automotive congress as well as suppliers semminars -Quality assurance visits to suppliers facitlites, to approve their manufacturing process -Prepare and present reports, proposal, test results to senior lidership -Solve numerous in-house and supplier quality issues (5W2H, Ishikawa, decision analysis) -Investigate the corrosive enviroment in Veracruz harbor and its impact on automotive parts
