Networking Projects – HBL / Bank Alfalah / UBL / NIBAF •Accompanied technical engineers on installing and repairing network switches and routers across multiple bank branches. •Accompanied the technical team in deploying over 300 Huawei 24/48-port switches for UBL nationwide network infrastructure upgrade. •Accompanied engineers in installing and configuring Huawei AR8140 routers, addressing connectivity and ping latency issues, notably at Bank Alfalah. •Accompanied the SiliconSt technical team for installation of Huawei IdeaHub smart collaboration devices at NIBAF to enhance remote communication and conferencing. Network Security & Access Control – 1Link / PayPak / Forescout Project •Accompanied our lead network security engineer in implementing Forescout NAC (Network Access Control) system to secure access across enterprise networks. •Observed how to define and enforce 802.1X (wireless) and non-802.1X (wired) authentication policies for endpoint compliance. •Observed how to develop pre-connect and post-connect policies to allow network access based on security posture. •Observed how to configure secure VPN tunnels enabling remote users to access internal network services under compliance conditions. •Observed how to integrate SecureConnect agents on Windows/Linux PCs and BYOD devices for real-time compliance checks. •Observed the technical team on how to tackle issues such as high CPU usage on client machines caused by NAC agents. •Learnt how to design detailed network topology diagrams using Huawei eNSP to support infrastructure planning and deployment. Firewall ACL Migration – Juniper to Huawei •Converted complex firewall ACLs from Juniper SRX to Huawei, ensuring accurate translation of protocols (IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, VRRP) and preserving security intent. •Automated conversion of CIDR subnet masks into Huawei wildcard masks, standardizing rule numbering and structure for easier management.
