My current role is to ensure that all P&O Australia guests receive a positive and memorable on-board experience no matter what ship they are cruising on. I work with Cruise Directors, Entertainment Directors and other senior management to identify, design and present tailored training programs and initiatives to the Entertainment Team to ensure consistency and quality of the product and guest experience. I develop the knowledge and skills of team members to assist them in realizing their true potential. I create a positive learning environment in order to encourage and motivate staff. My goal is to assist P&O Australia in attracting and retaining the best in the business, and to build employee and guest satisfaction overall. I am extremely passionate about entertainment and the customer experience as well as representing the brand in a positive and proactive way.

As the senior officer leading the Entertainment Department, I was responsible for organizing all on-board entertainment and social events to optimize guess experience. I oversaw the day-to-day function of the department including program scheduling, looking after the staff (cast members, production staff, musicians etc.) as well as guest entertainers, VIP acts and guest lecturers. I set out the expectations of the company to the team and carried out regular staff appraisals, as well as additional training and counseling when required. I enjoyed mentoring new joiners, returning staff and promoted crew members. I conducted and supervised all safety briefings and mandated drills and ensured policy compliance throughout. I wrote and distributed weekly reports to department heads both on board and shore-side, reviewing policies and procedures and effecting change where necessary. I worked closely with other departments to ensure integration of product offerings without diminishing the guest experience. I delivered all the public announcements and was the Master of Ceremonies for every main event. I hosted a daily TV show “Splash TV” and contributed to and edited “The Good Times” newsletter. I was essentially the public voice and face of the company. I was driven by providing consistently high quality entertainment and I would oversee every aspect of the program including lighting, sound and A/V system to ensure it was always delivered to the highest possible standard. It was my job to give a positive first impression to all guests as they embarked. I would take the time to really get to know them so that I could understand and anticipate their needs. I truly wanted each guest to have the best on-board experience ever so that they disembarked with memories of a lifetime and wishing to return.

Magician’s Assistant for Illusionist Jamie Allan. Responsible for floating, being cut in half and put back together, folding myself up into extremely small spaces whilst doing a full costume change, operating a live camera feed and generally being a "ta-dah" person.

Worked for the touring show "Houdini, The Musical". Responsible for scheduling and communicating with cast members, all onstage and backstage cues and oversaw the set building and break down in each theatre. I was also a cast member and appeared as part of the comedy duo in the show.
