Managed several projects that required mineral characterisation study using optical microscopy and the QEMSCAN technique.

Managing mineralogical laboratories, including QEMSCAN and XRD instrument maintenance as well as sample preparation equipment. Hands-on experience using QEMSCAN system, including routine maintenance, instrument set-up, SIP optimisation, data acquisition. Prepared hundreds of a high quality resin-mounted sample blocks required for the QEMSCA< SEM and EPMA analysis. Optimised sample preparation technique for more problematic material containing the clay minerals and/or organic matter. Conducted qualitative and quantitative XRD analysis of rock forming minerals and synthetic phases. Trained the Uni staff and students to perform the SEM and XRD analysis independly. Extensive experience in preparation of consultancy proposals and technical reports for industry clients, internal reporting and collaborators from the other universities in Australia. Co-authored a number of conference and journal papers. Conducted numerous studies on base metals, precious metals, phosphate ore, Ni laterite, clay minerals, , shale, coal and many more using optical light microscopy, XRD and QEMSCAN.

Provided mineralogical expertise for the exploration and metallurgy teams. Recognised and advised about the opportunities and challenges associated with the investigated ore deposit.
