Julie Zhu is Reuters’ Asia senior financial correspondent, covering finance and dealmaking across the region. Since joining Reuters in 2016, she has reported on capital markets, corporate finance, regulation, private equity and financial institutions, consistently breaking exclusives and delivering in-depth investigative pieces. Julie’s work has earned her several accolades. She was named Reuters’ Reporter of the Year in 2021 and was nominated as a finalist in the same category for three additional years. She was part of the team awarded Reuters Story of the Year in 2024. She has also received awards from The Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) for her reporting. Prior to Reuters, Julie worked at the Financial Times, reporting on business and general news about South China and Hong Kong. She is an avid Kindle reader and a rusty French speaker.
