Zhiyuan Wang

I've been working as an Associated Scientist at HiFiBio for 2 years and 10 months since I got my Master degree in Pharmaceutical Science from Northeastern University. The first year in HiFiBio, I supported the Antibody Discovery projects. My work includes measuring serum titers, collecting primary cells, enriching/activating selected cells, preparing libraries for sequencing and doing ELISA/FACS to screen antibodies. Later I switched my focus to Biomarker projects. The work includes preparing single cell libraries with different methods (Echo550, CelliGO platform, 10X platform), using Tape Station and Qubit to QC the libraries and using Nextseq2000 to sequence the libraries. Before that, I worked as an intern in EMD Serono for 6 months. I was in the Antibody Technology team, my work includes maintaining cell lines, collecting cell from animal tissues and screening antibodies with FACS and ELISA. Back in Northeastern University, I had worked as a volunteer in a professor's lab for 1 year. My major responsibilities were constructing plasmids and testing the proteins they expressed. By doing so I have developed many skills such as: PCR, restriction enzyme digestion, transformation, mini prep, sanger sequencing, cell culture, transfection and western blot. Earlier when I was still an undergraduate student in Zhejiang University, I have worked as an intern for 2 months in Shanghai to produce monoclonal antibodies with molecular cloning, then test the antibodies with ELISA and western blot. My undergraduate dissertation project is about HPLC and near infrared spectroscopy technology.
