I am entrusted with the responsibility and accountability for overseeing the processing projects and metallurgical optimisation at the Tormin Mine. This includes managing future expansion projects with the aim of positioning the Tormin mineral sands mine as a leading producer of heavy minerals on a global scale.

MSR has successfully executed an expansion phase project, which involved implementing various upgrades and additions to the current processing plants. These enhancements were necessary to support the expansion of our mining operations inland. Notably, we have now incorporated the mining and processing of historic paleo-marine mineralized strandline in addition to our existing beach mining activities. The upgrades that were included are as follows: - Scrubber unit - Desliming circuit - 18m Thickener - Flocculant plant - Tails Dewatering circuit In my previous position, I had the opportunity to collaborate closely with design consultants. Some of my key responsibilities in these roles included: - Conducting equipment sizing assessments - Providing technical evaluations and recommendations - Facilitate project meetings, including regular interactions with the CEO, CFO, and CTO, to discuss project progress and updates.  - Utilise MS Project as a project scheduling tool to effectively manage project timelines and resources.  - Fulfil the role of project administrator by accurately inputting purchase orders and ensuring project servers are up to date.  -Maintain a well-defined system and work breakdown structure (WBS) for organising and filing all project documentation. - I offered technical expertise and guidance to the existing process team including process and general managers, which includes metallurgists, to ensure optimal product quality and recovery rates are maintained. - Collaborated with the database administrator to implement a more user-friendly metal accounting software, aiming to enhance the efficiency of current metallurgists.  - Regularly engaged with waste storage facility design consultants to ensure compliance with the approved Environmental Management Plan (EMPr).

The Tormin Mineral Sands Operation is situated on the western coast of South Africa. It encompasses several high-grade placer beach and strandline mineral sands deposits that contain exceptionally rich grades of naturally occurring zircon, ilmenite, rutile, magnetite, and garnet. The ore undergoes a processing procedure to produce concentrates of high-grade ilmenite, garnet, zircon/rutile, and magnetite. Duties included: - Conducting process optimisation for the primary and secondary concentration plants, including continuous monitoring of plant performance and making necessary adjustments to gravity separation circuits to ensure compliance with mineral product specifications.  - Regularly monitoring and fine-tuning the magnetic separation circuits using various LIMS and Slons (WHIMS) on a daily basis. - Conducting daily metal accounting procedures, including the generation of a comprehensive production report for distribution to line management.  - Performing regular reconciliations of production data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, and providing detailed reports to line management. - Provide mentorship and facilitate knowledge transfer to plant operators.  - Assume the role of Acting Process Manager during the absence of the designated process manager.
