Conducted the earth observation satellite SMOS program for CNES and ESA, which was the largest satellite using a Proteus platform, with a 6m diameter deployable antenna.

Managed the Spacebus Family Product Line, including platform evolution, future platforms projects management, associated R&D, and standardization.

Directed a team of systems engineers in charge of the company’s technical proposals for commercial telecommunication satellites and systems engineering, which managed the Spacebus product line evolutions and standard, and won several competitive international bids including Astra 1K, Hispasat 1C, Arabsat 3A, Eurasiasat 1, etc.

Directed a team which developed a strong expertise in space computer systems and technology, local area networks, data buses, deterministic real-time architectures, simulation and performance prediction, mainly through the Ariane 5 and Hermes programs.

Led the design, development and qualification of Eurasiasat 1, the company’s first Spacebus 3000B3 platform (launched in 2001). The platform was at the time the most powerful European telecommunication satellite platform (new high power solar array, larger structure, new direct radiative thermal system, dual power bus system architecture, etc.).

Designed the digital on-board data bus system of the Ariane 5 launcher, first launcher to use a serial data bus (MIL-STD-1553B) for flight control and telemetry, and conducted development of the associated equipment, including novel data bus repeater, for the rocket stage jettisoning.

Conceived and implemented a new microprocessor-based spectrum analysis technique for the NASA/ESA Ulysses spacecraft, which improved filtering by a factor of ten over existing algorithms, subsequently used on following NASA instruments.

Led the LEO platform Proteus Product Line and associated programs: Jason 1, 2 and 3, SMOS, Corot, Calipso, which all gave excellent performances in orbit. Set up and conducted a team which designed in 3 months the first constellation platform of the company, and won the Globalstar 2 constellation renewal contract.

Coordinates technology development and R&T studies at CTO level Co-Chairman of Eurospace R&T Committee, official industry representative to ESA for European space technology harmonisation.
