Yuqing Cai

Cai Yuqing is a research associate at the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration, Nanyang Technological University. Her research focuses on global value chain, international trade regime, regional economic alliances, cross-border governance networks, and China-ASEAN relations. Her work explores the interplay between global trade structures and policy-driven economic transformations, with particular attention to green innovation, financial technology, AI governance, and capital markets. Before transitioning to academia, she gained extensive experience in the financial sector, working with banks, investment firms, and regulatory bodies on policy-driven financial reforms, corporate governance, and cross-border capital flows. This background provides her research with a unique perspective on the intersection of finance and economic policy, allowing her to bridge practical financial insights with theoretical frameworks in global economic governance. Building on this foundation, she has contributed to leading academic publications and actively participates in international research collaborations on regional integration and sustainable development.
