I worked with the two directors providing services for Australia and International mining industries while managing the office and Indonesian market through an entity and office based in Jakarta. Insignia Mining provides mine planning support towards Australia and International markets with the main mission of leaving our clients in a better place than we found them.

I looked after the country level of planning and technical services function for one of the largest mining contractors in Indonesian mining industry. As a subsidiary of Bumi Resources holding, Darma Henwa operated five pit-to-port/crusher coal mining projects at 210Mcum total annual waste removal. I reported to the COO along with the Board of Directors and work closely with my peers regional operation managers to maintain highest level of operational support on top of maintain mutual collaboration with my counterparts from partners’ KPC and Arutmin management and planning department.

In a closely knitted site team of Central Queensland’s historical mine site, I led a diverse technical services team of mining engineers, geologist/coal planning, drill and blast, and survey functions. Within challenging deposit of Seam 4 main coal seam and the less likely and less-planned uncovery of Seam 3 remnant was a constant “good” challenge. While working in a unique low cost yet dynamic operational setup, I reported directly to the General Manager. Through a very hands-on role of mine-to-port planning with close collaboration with my peer superintendents and Transcoal for railing/shipping logistic, I kept my technical skills well-polished while formed a good sense of being a senior leadership in an operational Australian coal mining company.

I worked onsite with main deliverable of Dragline dig plan within 26 week planning horizon to support the Short Range Forecast. Works involved intense Dragline design and excavation simulation (3d-Dig) highlighting coal release timeframe and management of interconnecting processes.

As the long term planning engineer for Blackwater mine, I travelled through wide range of technical aspects and business acumen of the asset. 1. Reserves Governance - Reserves statement (JORC report) - Quarterly F1F2F3 Reconciliation 2. Directional (values optimizations) Studies - Blackwater Development OA with stage options (ultimate 39Mt production) - Blackwater Sustaining Stripping SPS with option of getting two additional Draglines - Blackwater Coal Haulage SDPS to optimize the replacement plan of coal haulers - Deep Creek and Emu Creek IPS to maintain production profile 3. Life of Asset (LoA) schedule

The medium term planning role covers business plan horizon (five year plan and two year budget) down to 12 weeks detail design window. With close engagement with site stakeholders, key area of values optimizations are: 1. Dragline horizon 2. Dragline schedule/sequence 3. Coal quality and product strategy

I worked for a mine planning consulting company where I ventured into some pre-feasibility studies of both international and local green field projects, project tendering design assistance for contractors clients, along with working in-house onsite as a relief engineer.

I built solid experiences in Australia open cut coal mining market through both site roles and project/consulting works. Through the site roles I forged decent CDX and Dragline operations knowledge along with mine planning tools proficiency. The consulting works vary from different mine planning horizons (short term, medium term, longterm), survey reconciliation, green field feasibility studies, and tendering. 1. I worked for Thiess in one of the biggest coal project in Indonesia with four fleets of H3600/R995, twelve fleets of H2500/R994, and nine fleets of PC1250/H1200. With typical huge truck&shovel operation on a tight advancing boxcut (back fill) operation and multiple thin seams to recover, the mine was ramping-up to 10Mt/annum ROM coal target. 1. I worked in the Underground Mine Geotech Section for three months on an internship under the supervision of a chief engineer. I ventured in daily stability monitoring routines while putting together a study to determine the optimum time frame of Pillar Robbing operation post the closure of Drawpoints.
