Senior Scientist I @ Wave Life Sciences
About
I’m a Senior Scientist at Wave Life Sciences with over a decade of experience in RNA medicine discovery and development. My work spans ADAR-mediated RNA editing, siRNA, and antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) platforms, with a focus on advancing novel RNA-based approaches to treat genetic diseases. As a research lead for Wave’s RNA editing programs, I am at the forefront of cross-functional efforts that combine molecular biology, oligonucleotide chemistry, and computational design to translate innovative RNA science into therapeutic reality. I’m deeply motivated by the challenge of developing precise, durable, and safe RNA medicines that can make a meaningful difference for patients.

Experience

Senior Scientist I
Cambridge, MA
Discovery Biology - Platform Discovery Sciences Discovery & development research lead Wave's RNA editing program targeting MASH/NASH liver disease — one of Wave's highest-priority pipeline assets. Drove program from early candidate screening through lead identification and nomination; authored PK/PD sections for both CTA and IND regulatory submissions, enabling first-in-human trial readiness. Owned end-to-end assay development roadmap across cellular, tissue, and in vivo model systems, integrating qRT-PCR, NGS, and protein biomarker readouts into a unified PD package. Interfaced across discovery, development, regulatory, and CRO partners to ensure scientific continuity from bench to filing.

Senior Manager
Cambridge, MA
Discovery Biology - Bioanalytical & Assay Development Technical lead on protein biomarker development and PK analysis for Wave's internal siRNA program, accelerating readiness for lead candidate advancement. Served as sequencing wet-lab lead, coordinating all internal and CRO-based sequencing projects at the Discovery level — including plasmid validation for recombinant protein programs and re-engineering of proprietary primer designs. Managed cross-functional deliverables across discovery biology and development, maintaining scientific momentum during a rapid transition in program structure.

Scientist II
Cambridge, MA
Discovery Biology - Bioanalytical & Assay Development Co-led target nomination packages for multiple ADAR and siRNA pipeline candidates; built and validated high-throughput PD screening workflows using qRT-PCR and Sanger Sequencing across a compound library of 100+ oligonucleotide variants. Developed multi-platform biomarker infrastructure — including Western Blot, Protein Simple Jess/Wess, and custom sandwich ELISA — enabling quantitative protein endpoint analysis across >5 active programs. Established full histology workflow (cryosectioning, embedding, FISH, ISH, ViewRNA) with advanced image analysis pipelines in Zen/ImageJ/Fiji; delivered spatial expression data supporting lead selection. Managed all PK wet lab operations with one direct report; coordinated 4+ simultaneous external CRO collaborations (Novogene, Biocytogen, WuXi) ensuring on-time, on-quality data delivery. Gained access to Broad Institute and Harvard Bauer Core, expanding assay capabilities for high-complexity genomic and proteomic applications.

Scientist I
Cambridge, MA
Discovery Biology - Bioanalytical & Assay Development Led all PK analysis of oligonucleotides via a custom hybridization ELISA assay; managed one direct report and served as the primary scientific interface for all discovery and development project teams. Designed and optimized custom hybridization probes and successfully transferred the assay to 3 external CROs (Alliance Pharma, Nova Bio Assays, MoGene) and to Wave's internal development team — directly enabling biodistribution studies across the CNS and liver pipeline. Built Wave's in-house NGS capabilities from scratch: AmpliconSEQ, Targeted Sequencing, Total RNA-Seq, FFPE-based RNAseq, and Oxford Nanopore RNA sequencing — creating a platform that served the entire Discovery organization. Trained scientists and standardized workflows on 3 Agilent Bravo liquid handlers; automated Cell culture, qPCR, ELISA, bDNA, and library prep workflows that were subsequently adopted by Wave's entire CNS development team. Developed custom stem-loop qRT-PCR for high-sensitivity oligonucleotide detection, optimizing chemical backbone characterization for stereopure compound programs.

Senior Associate Scientist
Wave Life Sciences
Cambridge, MA
Discovery Biology - Bioanalytical & Assay Development Designed and executed PK analysis for oligonucleotides across multiple programs; developed and implemented Wave's first in-house single-cell sequencing capability using 10x Genomics. Built internal NGS assay suite: AmpliconSEQ, Targeted Pull Down Sequencing, and whole-transcriptome RNA-Seq — expanding the scientific toolkit available to the Discovery and Platform teams. Established Protein Simple Wes and Jess Western Blot automation systems, reducing protein analysis turnaround time and enabling higher throughput across CNS and Platform projects during organizational restructuring.

Associate Scientist
Cambridge, MA
Discovery Biology - Bioanalytical & Assay Development Supported PK/PD analysis for platform and CNS project teams; developed an ALS Foci imaging and analysis pipeline that generated spatial biology data for lead candidate assessment. Established Wave's first in-house Illumina miSEQ NGS sequencing capability and built Agilent Bravo high-throughput liquid automation platform — foundational infrastructure later scaled across the entire organization. Stood up Luminex multiplex analyte analysis system with Curoix high-throughput integration, enabling simultaneous quantification of multiple protein biomarkers per sample.

Research Associate II
Cambridge, MA
Discovery Biology - Bioanalytical & Assay Development Performed PK and PD analysis of oligonucleotides via hybridization ELISA and qRT-PCR; developed an MSD (Meso Scale Detection) assay for low-concentration analytes in complex biological matrices. Established Wave's in-house histology, immunofluorescence, IHC, and imaging capabilities from scratch — infrastructure that supported all subsequent in vivo programs. Cultured and banked 50+ primary patient fibroblast lines, creating a reusable cellular resource for future assay development and disease modeling across multiple therapeutic programs.
