Analyzed laboratory data on biogenic VOC emissions collected at the Blodgett Forest Station in the Sierras.

Investigated the relationship between acute respiratory infections in children and exposure to indoor air pollution. Worked closely with field workers and conducted stove testing in rural Guatemala.

Consulted on a wide range of projects on air quality issues, with the majority of the time spent collaborating with colleagues on environmental impact reports and statements. Worked on EIRs for government projects, as well as private companies, ranging from proposed power plants to street cars. Occasionally did some field work, monitoring air quality data for possible construction sites. Managed the monitoring team to collect, store, and send the filters for analysis. After the filters had been analyzed by a third party, I was in charge of quality assurance and control, as well as writing up weekly reports for a quick summary of findings.

Conducted research in the collection, integration, analysis, and interpretation of data on environmental hazards. Focused on issues surrounding exposures of organophosphate pesticides to children and mothers in the Salinas Valley using urinary biomarker data from Center of Health Analysis of Mothers and Children of Salinas (CHAMACOS) and comparing the data to National Health and Examination Survey (NHES). The resulting paper titled, "Merging Models and Biomonitoring Data to Characterize Sources and Pathways of Human Exposure to Organophosphorous Pesticides in the Salinas Valley of California" was published by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 2006. My main project involved writing a paper on a sensory irritation test (RD50) for use in airborne sensory irritants, which included analyzing past studies and papers for applicability in human standards setting.
