Yu Hagiwara

I served as Project Manager at a company that develops and manufactures quick connectors for cooling and fuel piping for Japanese OEM passenger cars. I oversaw the entire process of new product development, from the sales RFQ phase to design, design prototyping, mass production prototyping, and mass production, and also carried out design verification and process changes due to component changes. I was the only Project Manager in Japan, reporting directly to the president. I possesses broad knowledge in sales, R&D (design technology), quality assurance, production technology, manufacturing, purchasing, production management, supplier chain, and logistics, and plays a central role within the company. 日本OEM乗用車向けの冷却配管、燃料配管用クイックコネクターの開発製造会社にてプロジェクトマネージャーを担当。新規開発品を営業RFQフェーズから設計、設計試作、量産試作、量産を取りまとめる。また部品変更による設計検証、工程変更なども実施。社長直下のポジションで日本では唯一のプロジェクトマネージャー。営業、R＆D（設計技術）、品質保証、生産技術、製造、購買、生産管理、サプライヤーチェーン、ロジスティックなど幅広い知見をもち社内の中心的役割を持つ。

As the person in charge of setting up the mass production line for the development and manufacturing of passenger car seats for Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., I managed the entire factory. My responsibilities included managing the schedule leading up to the start-up of the manufacturing line, installing new automated laser welding equipment, establishing process flows, compiling and proposing improvements to quality issues from prototyping to mass production, managing the supplier chain, improving production efficiency, and reporting to global headquarters. I oversaw a team of managers and staff, those members are over 100 people in whole mass production line. 日産自動車向けの乗用車シートの開発製造の量産生産ライン立ち上げ責任者として工場全体を管理する。製造ライン立ち上げまでのスケジュール管理、新規自動レーザー溶接の投入、工程フローの構築、試作から量産に向けた品質課題の取りまとめおよび改善提案、サプライヤーチェーンの管理、生産効率改善など、グローバル本社への報告など工場管理部門のマネージャー及びスタッフ総勢100名規模の製造ラインを取りまとめる。

I spent five years working for a company that develops steering wheels and airbags for passenger cars for all OEMs. As a project manager, I oversaw sales, design, testing, prototyping, quality control, purchasing, production technology, manufacturing, and logistics. I also gained experience in steering wheel mold design, prototyping, and experimental evaluation during the design and prototyping phase. I spent 14 years working for a design company that supported Nissan Motor's development division. I primarily used CAE to evaluate the safety of vehicle structures before production prototypes and ensured that crash performance. I progressed from development staff to team leader, managing a team of about 10 people in global.. To expand sales, I was seconded to the US development department as a coordinator—a first for the company—and further improved development speed through collaboration with the subsidiary in Vietnam. I also reduced development man-hours by conducting vehicle structure analysis and building automated systems as DX. 日産自動車の開発部門を支援する設計会社に14年勤務。主にCAEを使用し車両骨格の安全性を生産試作前に評価し衝突性能を満足させる。開発担当者からチームリーダーを経験しグローバルで10名ほどチームを管理。売上拡販に向け米国開発部へ会社として初めてコーディネータとして出向、更にベトナムの子会社との連携で開発スピードを向上させ車両構造解析、自動化システム構築による開発工数の削減を行った。

I belong to the Quality Control and Quality Assurance Department for fan motors used in PCs, games, home appliances, servers, and production equipment. My main responsibilities include performance testing, defect analysis, and reporting to customers. I also implement quality control and improvement measures for production lines at the Shanghai factory in China. パソコン、ゲーム機、生活家電、サーバー、生産設備等に使われるファンモーターの品質管理品質保証部に所属。主に性能試験および不具合解析、客先への報告を担当。また中国上海工場の品質に関わる生産ライン構築や改善を実施。
