R&D, manufacturing of NCM cathode materials for Solid State Batteries

(1) Design and setup a full lab scale cathode calcination and post-treatment facilities (~500 m2, 50 different instruments). It could can provide 10-20 kg/batch sample delivery capacity, compatible with lithium cobalt oxide, lithium manganese oxide materials, high nickel ternary materials (NCM and NCA), manganese rich and lithium rich materials. (2) Engaged in lab scale preparation, pilot scale-up, performance evaluation, and testing of lithium-ion battery cathode materials. (3) Won several million RMB of high nickel cathode project for solid state battery.

Responsible for the technical support of the qualification of various types of carbon nanotubes in lithium-ion battery application, especially silicon anode in Greater China. The major customers include C, A, Microvast, A123. The detailed task includes customer visit, product introduction, product certification of laboratory pilot batch production; remote guidance and on-site guidance of customer application technology.

In charge of the following activities (1) The technical qualification of cathode materials in China for BASF Battery Materials ; (2) Join the Team Automobile China of BASF technical work shop activity in different OEMs, some interaction directly with OEMs; (3) Join regular R&D meeting and project review; (4) BASF technology transfer to local supplier for contract production, including calcination and precursor precipitation; (5) Competitors, customers, and the Industry trend analysis and benchmarking, information collection and feedback to corporate R&D and management.

(1) Establishment and maintenance of the electrode material evaluation lab; (2) Engage in the research and development of surface treatment of electrode materials for Li-ion battery, especially for large scale energy storage and electrical vehicles (xEVs); (3) Materials evaluation of modified LMO, NCM, layer-layer compound (over lithiated oxide); (4) Cell test of LMO/LTO, NCM/LTO, and LFP/GR. Small pack level test of LFP/Gr.

Although I did my viva on October, I have already working as a postdoc since April I paid as a podctdoc

Specialize in the formulation development of solvent borne and water borne fluoropolymer coating. Application field including construction and industrial coating (Alumina panel, metal structure). Also have the fuction of technical support. The main competitors in this specialized coating section are Nippon Paint, PPG, Du Pont. Applied three Chinese patents and one was authorized

Finished two advanced technology research projects. Both client are Fortune 500 companies. The research projects are key materials for Organic Light-Emitting Diode and fuel cells, respectively.
