I am proud to say that I am a second generation Diamond cutter. My late father began learning the art of diamond cleaving in the early 1940's, he grew into the business, from sourcing rough diamonds in Africa in the 1950-60's to crafting and marketing them to dealers and jewelers worldwide. He was recognized a pioneer in the large (specials) diamond manufacturing both in Israel, Antwerp and New York during those years. I followed in my father’s footsteps by him passing his extensive diamond knowledge to me from a very young age in Antwerp and later on when our family relocated to California. My professional life originated in Beverly Hills, California where I took my first steps into the planning , crafting and marketing of quality diamonds to colleagues and high jewelers. Later in life, I again relocated this time to Israel and after my service in the Israel Defense Forces proceeded with apprenticeships in raw diamond planning, manual cleaving and crafting of large (specials 10.80 carat+) diamonds alongside my father, until his unfortunate passing in 1994. In 1998 I began focusing on my specialty of planning and cutting (non-round) fancy shaped diamond specials. I was experimenting with period cuts as early as 1999 and the results created incredible impressions on me. Back then crafting period cut diamonds was still unheard of. Since 2003 I have been regularly supplying these stunning period cuts. In 2010 I founded GemConcepts Ltd., which specializes in designing and cutting unique diamonds using a new exclusive approach which I developed throughout the years, a new philosophy. Presently at GemConcepts we design and consult on diamonds that possess both the "old world" approach with the most innovative cutting-edge technologies and our exclusive savoir-faire. We have been researching & developing our knowledge in diamond's light behavior for a good few decades which in turn allows us to offer and serve our clients with multiple niche diamond cuts with controllable and consistent play of lights and appearances. For the last few years, I have been sharing my time between Tel Aviv and Athens, offering unique diamond, gems and jewelry design solutions in conjunction with out-of-the-box thinking & business consultations covering my extensive scope of specializations and which are not available or offered elsewhere.
