I completed a 1 year program, required by the State of Maryland, to be eligible to become a licensed nursing home administrator. Throughout the course of the program I studied the applicable State and Federal regulations and was involved in all departments and all aspects of the operations of the facility including: Collections, A/R aging, financial reports, budgeting, budget variance reconciliation, staffing, regulatory environment, Medicare/Medicaid, QA, survey readiness, marketing.

I conducted business research, including researching and reporting on best practices for physician recruitment and retention. I also assisted with data dealing with the hospital procedures budget. I feel that it was a learning experience to get to learn and be a part of the behind the scenes operations of a hospital.
