Performance tuning of Oracle databases: Analyzing history of sql query plans and using sql plan baselines as a quick remedy to system performance degradation. Identifying sql degradation using ASH and 10053 event. Using SQL Patches to add hints. Analyzing gv$active_session_history and dba_hist_active_sess_history to find the root cause of short-term spikes in response latency. Using hanganalyze trace files to find final blockers of hanged instances. Using SQLHC to create SQL profiles on QA servers and applying them in Production for a regressed queries. Implementing hash subpartitioning of tables which were concurrently updated from all RAC nodes to lower significant Cluster waits.

• Upgraded Oracle databases to 11.2.0.3 on AIX. • Developed different backup/recovery (BR*Tools/backint/RMAN/Netbackup) strategies for production databases. • Installed, patched, and maintained OID 11.1.1.9.0 on AIX. • Migrated Oracle Names Server to Oracle Internet Directory.

• Implemented Oracle 11.2.0.3 Active Data Guard (with data guard broker) as a disaster recovery solution. • Upgraded Oracle databases from release _10.2.0.5 to 11.2.0.3 on Solaris and Linux. • Configured Oracle Streams for XEYE application. • Cloned/replicated databases periodically from production to lower environment for testing purposes using RMAN and dbms_backup_restore procedure.
