Working on the following research projects that are about the modeling and control of power electronics devices in the power systems, which are highly related to the major of electrical and electronics engineering and power electronics.(1) Small signal stability assessment of data center power systems including unbalanced PFC loads and a diesel generator.(2) Online assessment of small signal stability of microgrid with flexible CHP converter based measured d-q frame impedances.(3) Impact of inverter based distributed resources on short-circuit protection of distribution systems.

Simulations including real Static VAR Compensator (SVC) and Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) controllers were done using the Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) simulation equipment and hardware-in-the-loop functionality.

Hardware-in-loop (HIL) experiments were done to demonstrate the feasibility and accuracy of a proposed islanding detection scheme which makes use of frequency difference measured by Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) inside and outside the islanding area.

A hybrid islanding scheme combining Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) data and original breaker/switch signals was developed to achieve more accurate islanding detection.
