I provide advice on intellectual property disputes and work with clients across a number of industry sectors including retail, fashion, technology, media, food and leisure. I have experience in dealing with disputes relating to trade marks, patents, copyright and designs as well as the related areas of passing off, defamation and misuse of confidential information. I have worked on cases before the High Court, the Court of Appeal, Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC) and the UK Intellectual Property Office Tribunal. I was also involved in coordinating a worldwide trade mark dispute with concurrent US and UK court proceedings. In addition to the contentious aspects of Intellectual Property, I advise on non-contentious matters such as the registrability of IP rights and the exploitation of existing rights through, for example, licensing. I have developed a specialism in UK and EU Competition law, and have so far advised on complex matters involving anti-competitive agreements, selective distribution agreements, abuse of dominance, block exemptions and hardcore restrictions such as price fixing, as well as Competition and Markets Authority investigations. I also advise clients on reputation management which encompasses defamation, malicious falsehood, privacy law and confidentiality.
