Yannick Busch

Currently, I work as a Research Associate at CPTx, where I focus on the production of DNA nanofabrications. I support the team in various research projects, develop and optimize experimental methods, and contribute to the execution of lab tests and analyses. I have also gained experience in production planning. Working in a start-up environment requires a high level of flexibility and rapid learning, as I continuously immerse myself in new scientific topics and technologies.

- Herstellung von DNA-Nanostrukturen im F&E-Umfeld. - Erfolgreiches Up-Scaling des Herstellungsprozesses - Entwicklung von Excel-basierten Lösungen zur Vereinfachung und Automatisierung von Produktionsabläufen. - Durchführung einer Technologieevaluierung zur Einführung von Tangentialflussfiltration (TFF) - Unterstützung von Tech-Scouting- und Prozessentwicklungsprojekten zur weiteren Skalierung der Produktion.

As part of my master’s thesis, I extensively studied protein misfolding and its connection to neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson’s disease. The goal of my work was to detect misfolded alpha-synuclein in body fluids to identify potential diagnostic markers for the disease. During this research, I gained experience with the RT-QuIC assay, as well as protein production and purification.

During my time at Novo Nordisk, I gained valuable insights into the pharmaceutical industry and project management. I contributed to the development of an educational platform for medical professionals and was involved in organizing and managing seminars and events.

During my internship at Novo Nordisk, I gained my first experience as a project manager. I primarily assisted in the planning and execution of a nationwide summer camp for children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes. This experience further developed my ability to work in teams and manage projects efficiently in a dynamic environment.

My Master's degree provided me with deep insights into biomedicine and biochemistry. Through various courses in which I was able to actively contribute to research projects, I gained extensive experience in planning, executing, and presenting scientific studies. This hands-on approach enhanced my ability to work independently, manage research timelines, and communicate complex findings effectively. The program further honed my critical thinking skills and equipped me with the practical knowledge needed to approach challenging scientific problems.

My Bachelor's degree provided me with a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and physics. Through various internships and my hands-on Bachelor's thesis, I gained valuable laboratory experience and further developed my skills in conducting experiments and analyzing results. These practical experiences strengthened my problem-solving abilities and prepared me to systematically and methodically approach scientific questions.
