• Lead the R&D of materials for optics such as infrared (IR) detectors and photo sensor technologies. • Synthesis, growth and processing of large-size DLaTGS crystal with high quality for advanced pyroelectric FTIR detectors. • Develop novel and scalable synthetic and purification processes. • Lead and coordinate a multi-functional team, design, implement, adjust, and finish an executable Design of Experiment (DOE) to optimize the performance. • Accountable for the planning and execution of multi-step processes from laboratory to robust technical transfer for scale-up to cGMP manufacturing. • Exerted in wafer processing in cleanroom including wafer slicing, mounting, polishing (CMP), dicing (DISCO), lapping, photolithography, wet etch, dry etch, PVD: thermal vaporization deposition, electron-beam deposition, sputtering deposition. • Responsible for the failure analysis and production optimization of Chemical Bath Deposition (CBD) for PbS and PbSe thin film infrared detectors, enhancing their yields, reliability and performance. • Interface with various functions such as Sales, Marketing, Safety, Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing. • Collaborate with professors in Arizona State University for characterization, HPLC-MMM, Single crystal XRD, NMR (1H FAST MAS, C13 CPMAS), MALDI-TOF, XPS, EDX, UV-VIS, etc.

• Design and synthesis of functional organic and organometallic compounds, • Deep understanding of Fluorine Chemistry, synthesis of Fluorinated Zinc Tetraphenylporphyrins. • Optimize conditions of chemical reactions, work-up and purification including Chromatography, Ion Chromatography, Reverse Chromatography, HPLC, UPLC. • Apply modern synthetic methodologies and techniques to optimize reaction sequences for improved yield, purity, and scalability. • Analyze the synthetic molecules by HPLC-MS, GC-MS, NMR, FTIR, MALDI-TOF, ICP-MS etc. • Expert in crystallization of organic and inorganic materials by different methods. • Prepare single layer of 2D polymer film by ultra-high vacuum physical deposition coatings. • Adept in material characterization such as FTIR, UV-VIS, Fluorescence, CV, TGA, GPC, DSC, XRF, XPS, EDS, TEM, SEM, AFM, TPD, single Crystal XRD, Powder XRD, etc. • Capable to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams. • Review and edit manuscripts for famous chemical journals.

• Designed two types of kicking oil for vegetable tanning to get soft and stretchable fur skin. (SLK-01, SLK-02). (Collaborators: Hebei Leijun Fur Skin Co., Ltd) • Invented a Levelling Agent for getting uniform dyeing on fur skin. (PKE-01). (Cooperating enterprise: Hebei Leijun Fur Skin Co., Ltd) • Established a method of producing, Aluminum formate, which is a common tanning agent for fur skin. (Collaborators: Hebei Leijun Fur Skin Co., Ltd.) • Invented an environmental make-up brush cleaner, which maintains the quality of the brush and keeps the fur soft. (SLB-01). (Collaborators: QING XIAN XING YUAN brush-making factory.) • Developed a transparent hand soap that is more moderate for our skin than common soap. (SLH-01) (Collaborators: Jiangsu LONGLIQI Bio-Science Co., Ltd.) • Introduced a novel formula of Epoxy Hardener for epoxy glue, which is applied in furniture with high transparency and cohesiveness. (SLE-01) (Collaborators: Kenas Home) • Invented a kind of stabilizing resin and a method of producing stabilizing wood which is always applied for knife handles, Mods, etc. (SLS-01) (Collaborators: Shenzhen ULTRONER Electronics and Technology Co., Ltd.) • Invented two kinds of dye dispersant to improve cotton, wool, and synthetic fibers textile dyebaths and dye dispersions & solubility to improve dye levelness. (SLN-01, SLN-02). (Collaborators: Jiangsu Nimate Science and Technology Co., Ltd.) • Developed a novel formula of flame retardant for Polyurethane sponge. (SNR-01.) (Collaborators: Jiangsu Nimate science and Technology Co., Ltd.) Role description: Develop and optimize the formulation of products based on customers’ needs; Optimize existing formulas for performance, stability, and cost-effectiveness; Use analytical tools (IR, NMR, HPLC, GC, ICP-MS, GPC, DSC, etc.) to solve problems and find solutions; Participate in plant scale-ups; Research new ingredients, technologies, and market trends.

• Completed total synthesis and characterization of natural peptides such as Venturamides A and B, and 27-Deoxylyngbyabellin A. • Hands on TLC, Chromatography, HPLC (Chiral, Achiral), UPLC, NMR, FTIR, GC-MS, ICP-MS, etc. • Developed the methodology of thiazole containing peptide synthesis. • Completed the design and synthesis of oligonucleotides with fluorinated acyl chain on lipid residue. • Synthesis of intermediates and APIs and process development. • Expert in drafting publications and patent applications. • Perform synthesis, purification, and characterization of small molecules and macromolecules with a focus on developing robust procedures.

BSc. in Polymer Materials and Engineering 09/2009 – 06/2013 Projects: •Project 1. Preparation method of bonding polyaniline on surfaces of styrene-acrylate copolymer emulsion particles •Project 2. Microwave-assisted synthesis of Polyhexamethylene Guanidine Hydrochloride Role description: This experience enriched my skills in preparation of polymer materials and various polymer characterization techniques. We used GPC for analyzing molecular weight distribution, and SEM as well as STM for detailed surface and molecular imaging. To understand the thermal properties and stability of polymers, we also ran the measurements of DSC and TGA. Furthermore, I developed strong capabilities in measuring the tensile and yield strength, equipping me with a thorough grasp of the mechanical properties of polymers.
