Mr. Wong has been CEO of General Biodiesel Inc. since founding the company in 2006. He is responsible for taking a concept into the leading biodiesel company in the state to profitability. He is very creative, Innovative and credited most of his success to choosing the right people. With 20 plus years of experience as an entrepreneur, Mr. Wong excels at driving revenue and results for his businesses. As a skilled multi-tasker, he has the ability to see around corners, to spot problems before they arise and to juggle big picture strategy with every day tasks, all while continuing to fuel “esprit de corps” throughout the company. Before founding General Biodiesel Inc., Yale spent 15 years founding and growing a variety of successful technology-driven companies. Most notably, is Compass Communications Inc., one of the largest broadband Internet service providers in Washington State. Compass Communications was a pioneer in developing and selling suite-to-suite fiber optics, offering HDTV over the Internet, and selling dedicated international transmissions. The company was profitable within its first year and, under Yale’s leadership, grew from a small start-up to a multi-million dollar corporation. Yale is an avid supporter of local economies and communities. To this end, he is active in numerous philanthropic organizations, including Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition (DRCC) and Bruce Lee Action Museum (BLAM). In addition, he has been recognized by many business, civic and environmental organizations for his contributions and is a recipient of the Mayor’s and King County Executive “Small Business Award” for the City of Seattle.

ABOUT US The United States is at a critical juncture in our energy history. Currently the US imports over 60% of our petroleum and consumes 25% of the world’s supply while making up only 4% of the world’s population. As developing nations like China and India become more influential in the market place, our national wealth and security depend on our ability to adapt and produce alternative fuels right here at home. Yale Wong founded General Biodiesel in 2006 to help reduce the US dependence on foreign oil. They decided to utilize recycled cooking oil and other sustainable feedstocks to produce an environmentally friendly fuel. General Biodiesel products and services measurably lower the carbon footprint of its GreenPartners and fuel RCB100 customers. By recycling used cooking oil, producing biodiesel locally, and selling to local fleets, our fuel is shipped very little when compared to the thousands of miles most petroleum travels. General Biodiesel recycles locally-sourced cooking oils and animal fats to produce bio fuels. Biodiesel from cooking oils is one of the cleanest-burning fuels on the market, producing 85 percent less life-cycle carbon dioxide per gallon than petroleum diesel, according to the EPA. General Biodiesel has 28 employees and operates out of the McKinstry Innovation Center headquarted in Seattle. This year the company will recycle 600,000 gallons of used cooking oil and reduce CO2 production by an estimated 10 million pounds.
