• Resolved the existing problem of using hazardous reagents in mineral processing and provided a safe solution by synthesizing a non-toxic chitosan based reagent • Investigated the structure of synthesized reagent using FTIR and NMR analysis, and characterized the adsorption mechanism of the reagent on mineral surfaces using XPS, TOC, Zeta Potential, PDA and SEM • Achieved the removal of copper ions contaminated on mineral surfaces and improved the separation between different minerals • Monitored and studied the aggregation process of mineral particles using FBRM continuously and conducted more than 60 tests within two months • Developed the standard procedures for the operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments together with lab members • Presented the research outcomes in several occasions including group meeting, the C5MPT seminar, and the International Mineral Processing Congress • Adhered to the workplace safety and health regulations and always put on PPE

• Invented a triangular-knuckle transmission mechanism for a pressing machine and drafted the 3D model for this mechanism using SolidWorks according to the specified workload and ram stroke • Conducted the animated simulation, and kinetic analyses of the mechanism using the modeling software ADAMS • Improved the working speed of the previous machine by 15 % and eliminating the spring-back of work piece
