Responsibilities / Role: Head of Analytical Chemistry 1. Manage the Analytical Chemistry Department of multiple sites in Suzhou and Shanghai to support drug discovery. 2. Establish new analytical infrastructure per needs, lead and develop scientific staff, build highly effective team through resource planning, prioritization of projects and activities, goal settings, etc., and provide performance management. 3. Advocate for best choice of capital and consumable resources to ensure effective function and state-of-the-art analytical chemistry support including NMR, HPLC, LCMS, Prep-HPLC, (Prep-)SFC/UPCC. 4. Continuously improve efficiency and quality of the output of the analytical team through lean lab and team operations. 5. Drive analytical strategies and method development to address emerging challenges in drug discovery like purification, chiral resolution and structure elucidation. 6. Be responsible to communicate and coordinate with external clients and other internal departments, as well as suggest and implement proposals to satisfy client’s concerns. 7. Business development of the analytical department for external services and maintaining client’s relationship.

WuXi STA Responsibilities: Team Leader 1. Analytical development for early phase CMC projects. 2. Organize routine lab operation, prioritize work order to satisfy internal and external clients. 3. Guarantee all analytical data delivered accurately and on time with high quality. 4. Initiate goals and plans, arrange and coordinate resources within groups to guarantee the team operation smoothly. 5. Guarantee team members receive good technical training and standard operation procedure training. 6. Guarantee the team constantly improve the quality and efficiency for supporting the PRD. 7. Maintain all instruments in a good running conditions for PAS normal operation. 8. Manage and supervise method development and pre-qualification activities. 9. Review and approve documentations of analytical methods, including CoA, method pre-qualification reports, analytical development reports, etc. 10. Propose analytical quotations for various projects ranging from pre-clinical research to Phase II trials. 11. Proactively communicate with clients to resolve project and production related issues. 12. Lead or actively participate the improvement of departmental procedures. 13. Effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments, such as PRD and QC, etc.

Responsibilities: Dual Roles 1. Leader of NMR SPEED Team. Take full responsibility of NMR SPEED Team, including, but not limited to: (1) Maintenance of NMR platform. (2) Operation of NMR team. (3) Innovations regarding NMR. 2. Analytical development for CMC projects. Analyst of multiple projects in diverse phases, ranged from DRF, GLP, to Phase I: (1) Performs analytical experiments in lab according to Health Safety & Environment standards. (2) Support the project responsible Analytical Expert by developing and validating methods; write analytical method protocols and reports. (3) Report abnormal experiment results timely and effectively, initiate Out of Specification/Out of Expectation, Deviation investigations. (4) Take instrument/equipment responsibilities of e.g. operation, maintenance, calibration, and qualification. (5) Enrich the organization culture by proactively providing and implementing ideas and suggestions.

Responsibilities: CMC Analytical Development 1. Perform hands-on laboratory work in the analytical development team to support the process development team in terms of analytical studies for process development and optimization of the analytics along the PD work. 2. Analytical method development for targeted API and precursors described in corresponding synthesis schemes. 3. Prepare analytical reports for detailed illustration of the developed methods including sample preparation, method execution, SST suggestion, as well as an overall summary report for each compound according to specific aims and quality requirements. 4. Provide analytical and structural verification data on newly synthesized compounds. 5. Perform NMR analysis of various 1D&2D spectra, qNMR determination, and residual solvent analysis, as well as IR measurements. 6. Assist HPLC and GC analysis as well as water content determination.

Responsibilities: Academic Research 1. Lead NMR-based metabolomics research programs. 2. Participate and complete scientific research tasks assigned by the Team Lead Professor. 3. Mentor undergraduate students to assist in their graduation thesis, providing a transfer of knowledge and hands-on technical training. 4. General laboratory support including housekeeping, equipment calibration and maintenance, inventory of supplies, etc.
