PART TIME - As a graduate student in the centre, he is conducting high precision analysis of the cost of energy systems, using advanced mathematical and computational methods. His research project aims to model and compare different types of energy generators, such as solar, wind, hydro, nuclear, and fossil fuels, in terms of their engineering design, performance, reliability, and environmental impact. He is also applying optimisation techniques to minimize the levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) and hydrogen (LCOH) for each generator. The purpose of this analysis is to provide data and insights for the question of what the cheapest and most sustainable way of producing hydrogen for export in Australia is, and what are the best locations and conditions for doing so. His research contributes to the centre's vision of developing multiscale energy systems that can meet the global demand for clean and affordable energy.

As a delivery lead at McRDefence, they supported scientific teams in the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator. He streamlined administrative tasks, benchmarked projects, and managed budgets with a focus on risk assessment. Alex helped secure $14M in funding by collaborating on joint funding bids and articulating research impacts. He also developed Statements of Work, negotiated project initiations, and managed 13 projects totalling $17M; having created an FMEA risk analysis and a strategic three-year plan. His PhD in hydrogen energy technonomics at UQ enabled them to understand and relate to the scientific projects and staff. Alex applied their technical knowledge, strategic planning, and relationship-building skills to the success of the defence research projects.

Freeman Consulting is an established player in business transformations, focused on leveraging the cloud platform through use of strategic and tactical approaches to improve delivery advanced analytics software and services. Vitrually out of the box was acquired in Februray 2022. • Australian Federal Government work in Cyber security, delivery consulting and framework development to support containerised cloud services • Business Refresh through a digital transformation into the cloud including M365 component migrations (email, chat and apps) • Implement remote strategies, governance, and delivery plans for service delivery transformations, collaborating with partners and vendors. • Provide strategic and technical advice to business leaders in shaping delivery roadmaps, overseeing the development of services using analytics in delivery. Cyber, DevOps, Analytics, ML & AI Contract direct Engaged to deliver large data transformation and cloud infrastructure projects for State and Federal Government agencies. Developing and implementing comprehensive strategies, product roadmaps and delivery plans in collaboration with stakeholders and vendors, I deliver secure analytics solutions centred on intelligence, investigation, visual analytics and criminal justice data analysis in the cloud. Making executive decisions based on the technological requirements of large, complex and highly regulated organisations.

DevOps and Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Contract with LMA Tasked with managing large programs for the Department of Defence (DoD), focusing on the use of DevOps and Hybrid Cloud Optimisation of private clouds, SaaS and legacy systems, I introduced new solutions based on human-centred design concepts to enhance functionality. Driving the delivery of two major Defence bids, I managed all programs to budget and timeline expectations. During this period, I led teams of matrix reports, engaging with client and vendor senior IT leaders, senior managers, business, technical and procurement managers to meet program objectives.

Cyber, Cloud Infrastructure/ERP Database Migrations Contract direct A digital transformation role, I deployed the inaugural cloud platform across the Department of Human Services, transitioning 3,200 databases and phasing out legacy systems. Leading the development and implementation of the 2018-2020 Cloud Strategy, I progressed to provide a trusted conduit between business, architecture and technical delivery teams throughout the transition. In addition, I established standards, policies and procedures in service planning and integrated Agile methods into the infrastructure team. Navigating a complex stakeholder ecosystem, I set and cascaded a clear vision for the significant transformation.

Cyber, Cloud Infrastructure/ERP Database Migrations Contract via UXC Saltbush Appointed to manage the delivery of projects on cybersecurity risk modelling, SaaS and supply ICT solutions for the DoD, reusing legacy systems while using new solutions to boost functionality. Led delivery of large-scale ERP projects within the Federal Government, applying knowledge of overseas strategy to bring security into IT via penetration testing and display security;

Payment Solutions, Hybrid Cloud & DevOps Contract direct As a contracted Program Manager for the Siemens Manufacturing (PHARMA FMCG) and Oil and Gas System Integration Portfolio, I managed ERP/EWM/MES deployments and cloud infrastructure on clients sites in Europe and Atlanta in the USA. I led the development of strategies to migrate data and ensure cloud solutions were workable in the business, developing business cases assessing risk and requirements aligned with the goals of the business. In addition, I procured services and equipment in multiple countries governed by regionally based statutory regulations and work practices and empowered a large team.
