About

I have over a decade of experience conducting user research in the tech industry, both as an individual contributor and as a manager and leader. I have brought this experience to both lean startups and larger companies to build out user-centric products and teams. After spending the bulk of my career in-house, I now advise select individuals and teams on how to run user research in their organization. I also advise and coach executives on their listening and communication skills. For more information, see: https://www.ximenavengoechea.com/consulting I'm the author and illustrator of several nonfiction books and journals which draw from my expertise in user research and design thinking. My newest book, The Life Audit: A Step-by-Step Guide to Discovering Your Goals and Building the Life You Want, is now available in bookstores (Oct. 2024). A companion journal is forthcoming (Feb. 2025). My previous book, Rest Easy: Discover Calm and Abundance through the Radical Power of Rest, received a starred review from Library Journal and was named one of Book Riot’s best books of 2023. My first book, Listen Like You Mean it: Reclaiming the Lost Art of True Connection, was a Next Big Idea Club finalist in 2021. I am represented by Leila Campoli at Calligraph Literary Agency. My writing has been published in The Washington Post, Newsweek, Fast Company, CNBC, The Muse, among others. I write a regular newsletter on personal growth and human behavior at ximena.substack.com. I am also a keynote speaker on many of these topics.
