● Design research proposals to identify and evaluate new targets in infectious disease. ● Explore and establish external collaboration with academic research units. ● Collaborate with internal partner to lead immunology project ● Lead the team to setup multiple new biology platforms to support research strategy, eg. human primary cell based 3D culture system of multiple tissues, CRISPR KO in primary cells, etc.

● In charge of Virology function with 5-6 team members ● Setup new technology platform to support vaccine candidate generation ● Select cell line and virus strain as vaccine master cell and virus seeds for further vaccine production ● Optimize production cell and virus seeds culture condition ● Design assays and animal study to fulfill project needs according to Chinese regulation ● Design research proposal for new animal pathogen discovery ● Familiar with animal vaccine related EP, USP and Chinese regulations ● Contact local and international CRO to design research proposal for cell-virus seeds testing according to specific regulation ● Communicate with other R&D sites and functions to synchronize materials and methods for vaccine seeds generation and small scale production.

Prof. Gang Long's Lab Mainly focus on HCV and HBV research. Involve in projects design and grant application. Daily supervise research assistants and students.

Prof. Oliver Fackler's Lab, Department of Infectious Diseases, Setup high resolution confocal image deconvolution and 3D reconstruction methods of T lymphocyte in the lab. Use Cytometric Bead Array to identify bio markers of HIV-1 infected PBMC's. Investigate HIV-1 pathogenicity factor Nef effect on Tyrosine kinase Lck with 3 team members, using live cell imaging, T-B cell conjugation, siRNA knockdown etc. The work results in two papers in peer reviewed journals. One of the paper was recommended by F1000 as MUST READ. Successfully achieve protein knock down in human primary resting T lymphocyte which lead to the high ranking publication in Nature Medicine. Familiar with Transwell assay, 3D migration assay to investigate tumor cell invasion. Screen human proteins for potent candidate as restriction factor of HIV-1. Daily supervise four PhD students resulted in four SCI(IF>5) publications. Supervise three Master students with proper designed projects.
