I am a Partner specialising in employment and labour law, with a particular focus on representing employers in employment disputes and arbitration and litigation proceedings across China. My experience in employment disputes has given me a clear, practical understanding of where employment risks most commonly arise in real-life disputes. This perspective allows me not only to defend employers effectively when disputes arise, but also to support clients at an earlier stage — structuring terminations, workforce restructurings, non-compete arrangements and HR compliance frameworks in ways that reduce litigation exposure. Alongside dispute work, I regularly advise multinational and domestic employers on mass layoff projects, senior employee exits, post-termination restrictions, and the design and implementation of HR policies and employment documentation. Where matters involve China-related cross-border elements, I work closely with overseas counsel to deliver coordinated, commercially pragmatic solutions that support clients’ day-to-day business needs. I am recognised by Legal 500 and was named in the LexisNexis “40 UNDER 40” list for China’s mainland. I am part of a highly specialised employment law team of five dedicated partners based in Beijing and Shanghai, all of whom focus exclusively on labour and employment matters. Our team advises on employment issues across the whole of China’s mainland. I continue to support international clients on their China employment law needs and regularly work with multinational companies on cross-border workforce matters.
