Xander Peeters

LBK is the official student body of the Faculty of Bioscience engineering of the University of Leuven, consisting of 170+ students with an annual turnover of 500K. The board is responsible for the finances and long-term decisions of the organization. As ex-president of LBK, I have built up expertise that could be useful for the current operating team.

As president of LBK, the official student body of the Faculty of Bioscience engineering of the University of Leuven, I: - Led and motivated a team of 170+ volunteers on a daily basis - Had end responsibility and served as a contact for external parties - Represented the Bioscience engineering students (+-1600) in various bodies of the university and faculty and in student councils - Led a team of 18 functional managers and gave guidance in their tasks - Was the vice-chairman of the board - Prepared and organized meetings on a weekly basis By doing this, I developed skills such as selecting priorities, financial insights, strategic thinking, communication (presentations, writing, negotiating), and creating consensus given very different opinions. My mandate was during the COVID-19 pandemic, giving me some crisis-management experience.

The logistics team is responsible for providing logistical and operational support on all events of LBK.

As a member of the welcoming orientation committee, I helped organize numerous events for welcoming and integrating over 300 first-year students at the Faculty of Bioscience engineering in Leuven.

I have represented the Bioscience engineering students in various bodies of the faculty and university: POCs, Faculty Council, Faculty Board, LOKO, Student Council and many more.
