-Primary clinical preceptor and instructor of graduate students in their clinical rotation; this is the in-patient, acute care supervised practice component of the SEU combined masters and dietetic internship program -Teaching hospital: Overlook Medical Center (Atlantic Health System), a 500 bed facility comprised of specific units of medical-surgical, oncology, neurology, nephrology, cardiovascular, pediatric, psychiatric and intensive care units -Daily hospital instruction that supports active learning and acquisition of competencies related to clinical nutrition care: Medical Nutrition Therapy and educational counseling of a variety of morbidities, primarily renal disease, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, wound healing, malnutrition, gastrointestinal conditions/post surgery; EMR charting, primarily EPIC; Nutrition Care Process for patient assessments; Malnutrition assessment using ASPEN/AND criteria for Nutrition Focused Physical Exam -Coordination with clinical nutrition manager, dietitian team and inter-professional healthcare workers to facilitate best patient care and outcomes -Daily responsibility of patient productivity -Evaluate and report on student learning outcomes related to curriculum goals and the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) guidelines

-Assessment of nutritional status and needs of pre and post bariatric surgical patients, including patients with co-morbidities seeking bariatric surgery (primarily renal disease, diabetes and cardiovascular disease) -Utilization of effective education and counseling tools to facilitate patient behavior change -Development of educational materials for bariatric patients utilizing current scientific literature and research -Monitoring of post bariatric patient: reviewing laboratory values, utilizing bariatric Apps (Baritastic), in person appointments and support groups -Active member of inter-professional healthcare team for best patient outcome -Winning Through Losing: A Weight Loss Surgery Podcast; interviewed for the following episodes: “The Importance of Protein and Vitamins”, “The Importance of Label Reading for Smart Grocery Shopping”, “ Nutrition Tips for Bariatric Patients” -EMR charting, Advanced MD and Cerner; management of patient productivity and reporting

-Apply evidence-based guidelines utilizing the Nutrition Care Process in patient assessments and interventions to provide the best patient care and outcomes in acute, critical and chronic care in a hospital setting of 500 beds, which includes medical-surgical, oncology, neurology, nephrology, cardiovascular, pediatric, psychiatric and intensive care units -Active participation in inter-professional rounds and communication to facilitate best patient care -Utilization of effective education and counseling tools to facilitate patient behavior change -Assessment of malnutrition using Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) -Writing privileges of therapeutic diet orders, nutritional oral supplements and enteral nutrition -Facilitation of group nutrition education classes -Participation of professional Journal Club with dietitian team

Collaborated with the Livingston, NJ YMCA staff to on nutrition education for after school (K-5) and half-day kindergarten programs. Food and Nutrition Business and Communications concentration: Shop Rite of Livingston, NJ, provided nutrition tours, community outreach, handout/material design, food demos & classes. Applied Nutrition Corp,Inc in Cedar Knolls, NJ, food science & marketing of medical foods for inherited metabolic disorders. Collaborated with team members to develop and produce a PSA on the topic of Heart Health and Women. Planned and implemented a Lunch and Learn for staff of St. Elizabeth. Developed original recipes for "Fall into Health" recipe book.

Responsible for the development and planning of community wide fundraisers and school wide activities for the regional (K-8th grade) private school to ensure annual fundraising goals were successfully met or exceeded. Planned, organized, coordinated and executed special events including annual campaign kick-off event, grandparent's day and annual family fun day fundraising event. Acted as prime source for promotion of activities and special events.
