Lead the University’s AI strategy, governance and adoption programmes, aligned to the M2035 “From Manchester for the world” strategic vision. Co‑led the delivery of the University’s collaboration with Microsoft to provide universal access to Microsoft 365 Copilot for all 65,000 staff and students — a sector‑defining achievement based on equity, responsibility and digital empowerment. Develop and oversee responsible AI frameworks, guardrails and guidance for teaching, research and professional services. Shape institution‑wide AI literacy programmes and capability‑building initiatives across all faculties. Partner with academic leadership, researchers, digital teams and the Students’ Union to ensure AI supports learning, research and staff wellbeing. Represent the University within the UK HE sector on AI ethics, digital transformation and responsible innovation. Support cultural change across the institution, ensuring AI adoption is thoughtful, transparent and focused on meaningful impact.

In my role as Chief of Staff and Head of Operations for GSK’s AI/ML organisation, I partnered closely with the SVP of AIML and R&D leadership to shape strategy, drive operational excellence, and ensure cohesive delivery across a global and highly regulated research environment. I played a central role in translating AI/ML vision into execution, aligning people, processes, technology and scientific priorities to accelerate impact across drug discovery and development. A cornerstone of my work was leading the programme delivery of Jules, GSK R&D’s internal GenAI platform, enabling rollout to 13,000+ R&D users. I oversaw operational readiness, engagement, governance and adoption, ensuring Jules embedded safely, consistently and effectively across scientific and operational workflows. This was one of the most significant digital transformations within R&D during my tenure. Alongside programme delivery, I led the AIML Operations function, accountable for strategic planning, organisational rhythm, financial oversight, data and risk governance, and both internal and external scientific communications. I ensured AIML had a clear, connected and measurable strategy, and that its execution aligned with the broader R&D and organisational priorities
