Wallace Kempkey

Growing up in the city of Napa California, Wallace created an amazing network of friends and professional advisers as a commercial insurance agent/broker for the local wine industry. After joining the Napa Noon Rotary Club in 2006 Wallace became inspired to help those who were less fortunate, so he moved to Seattle in 2010 looking to perpetuate an idea that had consumed his mind for the past seven years. Early in life, Wallace and his grandfather shared the same idea that someday there would be free renewable energy for everyone. In his growing years, Wallace spent long summer days in his grandfather’s workshop and slowly graduated from building things made out of Legos, to wood, then welding steel, then crafting aluminum, and now vacuum bagging composites. After graduating from CSU Sacramento in 2003, Wallace worked many jobs and finally moved to Santa Barbara. With a hankering to make a difference in the world and a longing to create something different, Wallace spent much of his life admiring Mother Nature and remembers really envying the efficiency of a bird's wing flapping through the air or the way fishes' fins slice through water. With one crazy idea in mind, he went to the local hobby shop and spent about fifty bucks on balsa wood, copper tube and rod, and glue. The idea was to basically reverse engineer and re-create the motion of a fin on a fish or a birds wing, and convert that oscillating wave-like motion onto a rotating shaft which could turn a generator or pump water. Sixteen prototypes later and with a patent pending, Wallace plans to sell or license the IP to one or more manufactures in several countries around the world.
