I started in the field of computer graphics, more specifically realistic image synthesis, in which I used parallelism to speed up the complex calculations. This activity boosted my interest in computer networks. At the EDM (Expertise Centre for Digital Media) of the Hasselt University (formerly Limburgs Universitair Centrum), I currently lead a research group working in networked & secure systems, with research topics such as novel streaming formats, high-performance web technology, and network security and its privacy implications.
