About
In 28 years of Software Engineering experience, I have built foundational systems designed for long-term resilience. My work crosses from trusted mainframe applications, to language compilers (Rubinius) and the pioneering Cloud Foundry PaaS, to modern, distributed cloud infrastructure. I am now systematically-dismantling these types of designs. My current research focuses on the "Physics-Aware Stack." I believe that modern software has become too detached from the underlying reality of the machine. I am working on re-coupling high-assurance software (Zig/Lean4) with the deterministic friction of hardware (Real-Time/Embedded/FPGA/FPAA). I intend to build systems that don't "hide" their complexity, but optimally leverage the thermodynamics of information.
