Managed daily operations of payroll office supporting over 12,000 employees of high-profile medical center • Created Excel templates (one for processing garnishment payments and one for paying 20 monthly hospital wide medical benefit bills), resulting in approximately 50% reduction in work time. Presently handle garnishments, SDI integrations and payroll inquiries • Streamlined procedure for sorting and counting approximately 2,000 payroll checks each 2 week pay period, decreasing labor time from approximately 104 to 52 hours annually. Scan department documents to promote paperless office • Helped manage leave processes: Family and Medical Leave Act and Leave of Absence • Effectively prioritize and complete work (e.g., make outbound calls in morning, and use checklist for inputting IRS, state, student loan and wage levies/garnishments into Lawson software) • Processed Termination checks and process PTO donation checks;Utilized Microsoft Excel templates to process garnishment letters by using HLOOKUP function which allows transfer of text from one document to another • Prepared electronic payment for approximately 20 CSMC hospital wide employee insurance benefits which consisted of medical, dental and vision plans • Improved process for calculating employee State Disability Insurance by consolidating multiple steps into just a few and thus revealing how many hours employee to receive from both CSMC and State Disability. • Served as member of 2008, 2010 and the 2013 Finance Retreat Committee and also was a staff writer for the department’s quarterly E-newsletter for 4 years
