My work focuses on the prevention and punishment of trademark counterfeits in emerging market countries. I am an attorney, but I tend to focus more on finding business-oriented rather than legal-oriented solutions. I am also primarily interested in the protection of non-luxury physical goods. In my current position I have been fortunate to travel to over 50 foreign countries to work with local distributors, attorneys, and investigators in devising specific solutions to the unique challenges offered in those countries. To increase my effectiveness I am currently working on an M.B.A. at Indiana University. For volunteer work I have been involved with the anti-human trafficking movement for over a decade.

Directed all legal work within the company. Hired, trained, and managed multiple attorneys and paralegals. Advised company owner on a wide variety of business legal issues. Designed and coordinated a major multinational sting operation and extradition action against a significant foreign-based counterfeiter that resulted in the arrest and imprisonment of the counterfeiter in a third country and the end of all counterfeiting activities by him against client. Case involved novel use of existing state statutes and coordination of assets on three continents. Assisted in the development of the novel legal theory allowing the seizure and use of the right of publicity from O.J. Simpson in order to pay judgement owed by him to the Goldman family. Managed publicity for filing of the initial suit. Designed and managed the successful online campaign to force Regan Books to pull Simpson’s book “If I Did It” from publication.
