Etch Equipment Engineer @ Jireh Semiconductor Inc.

About

10/2024: I've started as an Equipment engineer at Jireh. I'm a tool owner for about 38 chambers from ULVAC Optima ashers to AMAT Precision 5000 tools with a handful of LAM Rainbow 4520 tools as well. The 200mm world is new to me, but I'm learning fast. The flexibility and empowerment at Jireh is refreshing. 7/2024; I just finished my MS in Materials Science and Materials Engineering. I've spent the last several years working full time and attending PSU. At work, I've been pushing to develop new improvement and cost saving projects and am always coordinating with and training new technicians and engineers in hardware function , model-based troubleshooting, and procedure refinement. I have now spent almost 6 years in Plasma Etch as a technician and am looking to move to an engineering role where I can help drive improvement and innovation in a group. My MS focused on Semiconductor Manufacturing but if the right opportunity appears elsewhere, I am open to change. My dream job would be working on a research team that focuses on innovation and integration of new technologies. Update 2022: I'm now a mid/senior level Plasma Etch technician at Intel with a focus on older wafer processing etchers. My day to day includes a variety of hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair plus supporting my team for anyone who asks. I provide training for other technicians and newer engineers. I also act as a resource for more unusual non-documented problems that we encounter and process tools that are extra problematic. I enjoy challenging issue that don't have a clear and established fix. I take time to work on my own improvements to internal documentation and have put some effort into video guides for quick reference and occasional procedures. In addition, I make it my mission to share what I know in a durable and accessible way so that other people don't have to repeatedly find a fix for an issue we already have a solution to.
