Will Day

Upon leaving sixth form I decided to go into a welding and fabrication apprenticeship at Bolton NDT. Whilst I was there I was complete my level 2 and began my level 3 apprenticeship. During that time I learnt and developed my skills within welding as well as being shown the different aspects of the industry and took an interest into NDT. During that time the welding side of BNDT separated and formed Precision Welding Specialist Co Limited. 18 months into my level 3 I left the welding and fabrication apprenticeship early in order to begin venture into NDT. After leaving I rejoined Bolton NDT which shortly after became Code-A-Weld where I began gaining experience in Radiography before taking my Radiography Course at lavender’s International. I achieve a level 2D and then set out to gain my DPI ticket which I passed with another Level 2D. After having gained some experience on both the welding/fabrication and NDT side of the industry, I decided that I would like to take the next step in my career which was to to get involved in the surveying side of the welding. I am currently working at Code-A-Weld where I am undergoing training as a Surveyor/Inspector and hope to sit the CSWIP 3.1 exam within a year of being signed off
