Creative Justice and Strategic Engagement

Summer Health Academic Enrichment Program. Work out of the office of Student Affairs to development the curriculum for the two- week over- night summer camp that engages Lorain High School students in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), culture, environmental, and social activities and education. Develop relationships with Lorain community, administration, and students by attending local events and classes. Additional responsibilities include SHAEP participant recruitment, regular communication with Lorain GearUp Program Coordinator , budget analysis, proposal and evaluation editing, and marketing & promotions.

An affiliate of The Corps Network's (TCN) Education Awards Program (EAP), partnering with GLISTEN, the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, and other local organizations to launch the Department of Interior's "Play Learn Serve Work" (PLSW) Youth Initiative. Focusing on goals to: - Play: Enhance outdoor recreation partnerships to create new, systemic opportunities for outdoor play for young people. - Learn: Provide educational opportunities to the K-12 student population. - Serve: Engage volunteers on public lands. - Work: Develop the next generation of lifelong conservation stewards and ensure a skilled and diverse workforce pipeline. Objectives are to: - Connect youth, families, veterans and entire communities to public lands through outdoor recreation, educational programming, service projects and employment training opportunities. - Develop partnerships with municipalities, non-profit organizations, schools, health care providers, and other stakeholders to help young people develop strong lasting connections to nature and public lands. - Expand on leadership opportunities for the next generation of environmental stewards by increasing service opportunities and engaging entire communities in partnership with public, private, and nonprofit representatives.

Assist restaurant manager with operations by problem-solving, delegating, and overseeing flow of restaurant. Address guest and employee needs, authorize and override monetary transactions, and maintain safe and clean atmosphere. Decide on large party locations, setup, and turnovers in a timely manner. Keep ongoing communication between hosts, managers, kitchen, and wait-staff. Delegate to host staff various guest service and restaurant maintenance necessities. Maintain exceptional customer service and constant guest interaction in a fast-paced casual dining facility.
