I work as a counseling intern, providing individual counseling within a private practice and EAP setting. I work with a diverse clientele in age, ethnicity, gender, religious affiliation, and socioeconomic demographic. My work has included though is not limited to issues regarding abuse/trauma, addictions, anxiety, boundaries, codependency, depression, grief/loss, groups, relationships, sexual issues, spirituality, and stress management.

I began my career at New Life in an administrative role within New Life Kids, serving as the assistant to the 56 Pastor. As assistant and admin to the pastor I coordinated weekly volunteer schedules, volunteer discipleship, small group curriculum and organization, Sunday service lead/coordination, LAUNCH curriculum development and group facilitation, and yearly retreats. I was then promoted to a department wide coordinator role, expanding my responsibilities to include the above needs for all departments within the New Life Kids Ministry. My role then included supply management, administrative support, Sunday evening service lead/coordination, and project management for the entire New Life Kids department and sports ministry.

Hope and Home is a Child Placement Agency working across the state of Colorado to ensure our children in foster care receive a healthy and safe home. We are a foster to adopt organization, working in a love to nurture philosophy. My position of home supervisor/home study writer in the Denver/Ft. Collins area allows me to work with foster families and children with monthly home visits, counseling, crisis intervention, support groups, and home studies to ensure the best possible placements that will lead to permanent adoptions if possible.

The role of the Youth Services Coordinator is to lead and develop an after school program for refugee students at Clarkston High School that focuses on academic enrichment, STEAM, social adjustment, professional development, and most importantly, trauma resiliency. The program is purposed to assist students in the processing of childhood trauma associated with conflict zones, refugee camps, traumatic loss, transition, social adjustment, and any other necessary areas. The role of the Youth Services Coordinator is also to develop and manage and summer trauma treatment program for the ages of K-12 students or displaced families, ranging in cultural, religious, and ethnic origin.

I studied human rights within the global context, seeking to discover ways in which foreign policy directly influences human rights, the plight of the vulnerable in war-torn countries, and the common good.
