This was an extremely fruitful internship; not only did I manage to hone existing skills, I was also exposed to the vast world of AI & Machine Learning and picked up related skills and knowledge. My experience during the internship is summarized as follows: - Developed a web application to extract article information from RSS feeds, then pass the data into ChatGPT API to perform various functionalities. - Upgraded my web development skillset. I used React.js and Node.js (Express.js) to develop the application, which I was relatively new to, but am more conversant in now. I also brushed up on my HTML/CSS which I am quite comfortable with writing now. - Used prompt engineering to explore the capabilities of the ChatGPT API (summarizing articles, inferring entities, etc.). - Exposed myself to the LLM framework LangChain, which I relied on to construct the LLM-related functionalities. - Learnt about other useful libraries in web development. This role was a six months extension to my National Service, during which I was given charge of multiple projects. Oftentimes I had to delegate work appropriately to meet deadlines, as well as communicate with external agencies.

One of the most eye-opening experiences in my life; I had the opportunity to witness firsthand how a working environment in the real world looks like, and had to adjust quickly to meet expectations. I was in charge of ensuring that daily operations in the unit ran smoothly, and also assisted the other Officers in administrative work, sometimes taking charge of projects as well. Overall this was an extremely fulfilling experience for me and my development as a leader.
