I’m the founder of Penble Tiny Homes, where we’re tackling one of Ontario’s biggest challenges — housing affordability — by designing and building sustainable tiny homes and small-footprint communities. With a background that spans engineering, 20+ years in social work, and entrepreneurship, I’ve always been driven by problem-solving with people at the centre. When my wife and I went through a mortgage renewal a few years ago, I realized how uncertain the housing future looked for our daughter’s generation. That moment sparked the idea for Penble: to create housing that’s not only attainable, but also dignified, beautiful, and built to last. At Penble, we: 🏡 Build signature tiny homes (20–32 ft) that balance design, comfort, and sustainability. 🌲 Partner with local builders and sawmills to use Ontario-sourced cedar and sustainable materials. 🔨 Develop communities like Cedar Nest Village, blending modern tiny homes with shared amenities to create places people are proud to live. 💡 Help homeowners add backyard ADUs to generate income or support multi-generational living. I’m passionate about bringing together the right people — landowners, municipalities, builders, and families — to make housing solutions possible. I founded Penble Tiny Homes, a Canadian design-build studio creating sustainable, code-compliant tiny homes and communities. Our mission is to make housing more accessible, resilient, and environmentally responsible while helping homeowners unlock new income opportunities through ADUs and rental units. At Penble, we design and build both premium tiny homes (signature Cedar, Willow, and Nomad models) and affordable housing solutions for community-scale developments such as Cedar Nest Village and Cedar Birch Village. We are committed to craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainable materials like locally sourced cedar and energy-efficient spray foam insulation. Key Contributions & Highlights: Designed and launched three core product lines (Nomad 20’, Cedar 26’–32’, Willow 28’–32’) with customizable upgrade options. Led the build of the first Cedar 26’ Premium Tiny Home, collaborating with architects, engineers, and skilled trades to meet Ontario Building Code compliance. Secured financing and strategic partnerships, including local sawmills, Amish builders, and community developers. Developed Cedar Nest Village, a 50-home sustainable community model, and Cedar Birch Village, a 20-home lease-based pocket neighborhood. Introduced ADU solutions for Ontario homeowners, positioning tiny homes as income-generating rental units. Built financial forecasts, sales funnels, and digital marketing strategies to drive both direct sales and long-term leasing models.
