I'm an environmental planning, assessment and permitting professional with Stantec specializing in the energy and resources sectors (power, mining, and oil & gas). I also have experience in the ports, transportation, and urban development sectors. At Stantec we help our clients develop environmentally and socially responsible projects. This requires our teams to: (i) create meaningful opportunities for Indigenous involvement in our work; (ii) listen to communities, and, (iii) engage with all levels of government. A major component of my role is building teams that can negotiate the environmental assessment and permitting processes for capital developments (generally in the $100 million to $40 billion investment range). I work with an amazing group of professionals from across Canada, the USA and globally. Having access to the support of more than 4,500 technical specialists within our Environmental Services division makes the job a lot easier.
