The Centre for Management of Technology and Entrepreneurship (CMTE) in University of Toronto consists of the brightest and most promising students, research fellows and professors. The Centre's focus is to help members in the Canadian Financial Services Industry conduct research into what technology they will require to differentiate themselves from their competitors and to ensure that continuous productivity improvements are realized while customer satisfaction and loyalty grows. The thesis project was sponsored by a major Canadian bank to conduct extensive research to analyze the impacts of social media in workplace. Thesis Researcher: • Completed a thorough literature review illustrating current practices and trend over the past years • Conducted three types of surveys and a cost-benefit analysis based on the survey results • Prepared a 100-page report and an hour presentation to the client highlighting benefits and risks regarding social media in workplace as well as providing recommendations for development of a companywide policy
